Whole Foods Market Selects PBD to Develop New Private Label Brand

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — June 24, 2002 — PhilippeBecker Design Inc. (PBD), a San Francisco based packaging and branding agency, today announced that Whole Foods Market® (NASDAQ: WFMI), the world's largest retailer of natural and organic foods with 143 stores in North America, has invited them to design a new organic private label brand.

In anticipation of increased consumer demand for organic foods with the kick-off of the USDA Certification program, Whole Foods Market will launch a new private label brand with an initial offering of 50 products in such categories as snacks, cooking oil, cookies, juice, soda, salad dressings, and frozen fruits and vegetables.
