PBD Undertakes Pro Bono Project for San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — January 10, 2003 — PhilippeBecker Design Inc. (PBD), a San Francisco based packaging and branding agency, announced today that the company is undertaking a pro bono project for the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center (SFCAPC). PBD will facilitate a series of strategy and ideation sessions with SFCAPC stakeholders to surface issues, ideas and priorities as they relate to developing a clear and focused messaging platform.
SFCAPC is dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect, the promotion of healthy families and the mental health of children. With direct crisis and intervention programs designed to reduce parental stress, enhance parenting skills and provide comprehensive services for families in need, SFCAPC is dedicated to helping families end the cycle of abuse.
The new messages will ultimately be deployed through a variety of outlets including PR campaigns, new brochures, press kits, corporate video, newsletters, fundraising events and donor discussion guidelines. Concurrent with the strategy development, PBD will design the invitation for SFCAPC's sixth annual fundraising luncheon.
"SFCAPC has done a stellar job in program development, servicing the community and raising funds to support their steady and mindful growth over the last 27 years," said Brody Hartman, director of creative strategy for PBD. "However, given the current economic climate, not-for-profits are having greater difficulty raising funds from current and potential donors."
Hartman added, "This change in the economic climate serves as a catalyst for SFCAPC to take a step back, reevaluate and develop a messaging platform that will yield the greatest results for the organization including: increasing donations from the public and private sector; promoting a greater awareness of child abuse issues; educating the community about services offered by SFCAPC; and creating a call to action at various other levels."
"Our goal has always been to create a solid infrastructure that will allow PBD and its employees to donate a percentage of time and services to not-for-profit organizations," said PhilippeBecker, creative director of PBD. "It is a priority for us to give back to our communities and deliver meaningful work."
"Typically, the companies that have the fewest resources have the greatest need for getting their word out to the community and its constituents," said David Becker, president of PBD. "We are pleased to be able to contribute in our own way to an important cause."
