PhilippeBecker Design Receives Excellence in Marketing Award
Agency Honored for Work in Community Service
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — May 22, 2006 — PhilippeBecker Design (PBD), a San Francisco branding and packaging agency, today announced that it has been awarded an "Excellence in Marketing" Award by the American Marketing Association (AMA).
The San Francisco Chapter of the AMA bestowed the 2006 Award for Community Service to PBD for its work on Project Homeless Connect (PHC). PHC is San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's innovative program to bring social services directly to the homeless citizens. PBD created the brand identity for PHC, as well as for the spin-off programs – SF Connect, Project Youth Connect, Project Green Connect, and Project Tech Connect.
"PBD worked on Project Homeless Connect to help better citizens' lives – and inspire others to do the same. We are proud of our employees and the contribution they have made to San Francisco," said David Becker, President.
Over 10,000 volunteers have participated in PHC in San Francisco. The program has proven so successful it is now used as a model in over 20 cities in the U.S.
The Excellence in Marketing Award was created 1988 to recognize exceptional performance in Marketing. 2006 Finalists in five categories included Adobe Systems, Inc., Covad Communications, Charles Schwab, Kaiser Permanente, Leap Frog, KQED/NPR, and Visa. Winners were announced at the Excellence in Marketing Awards event, Thursday, May 18th, at the JW Marriott San Francisco.
PBD has grown consistently since it was founded in 1998. The San Francisco Business Times ranked PBD recently as number fifth on its list of the Top 100 Fastest Growing Private Companies, and number sixth on its list of the Best Places to Work in The Bay Area.
