PhilippeBecker Design Creates Brands for SF Connect
Mayor Newsom thanks San Francisco Branding Agency
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — August 28, 2006 — PhilippeBecker Design (PBD), a Bay Area branding and packaging agency, today announced the completion of four new brands for SF Connect.
Mayor Gavin Newsom created SF Connect as an innovative partnership between a city and its citizens. Its purpose is to help improve the quality of life for all San Franciscans. SF Connect mobilizes volunteers and creates partnerships between the public, private, and non-profit sectors.
PhilippeBecker Design created the SF Connect umbrella brand, and its four sub-brands: Project Tech Connect, Project Youth & Families Connect, Project Green Connect, and Project Homeless Connect, which PBD completed in 2005.
"PhilippeBecker Design used their innovation, creativity, and marketing expertise to make a better life for all San Franciscans. I thank them for their dedication and talent," said Mayor Newsom.
Like the original Project Homeless Connect logo, in which two clasped hands impart a respectful, human message, the new brands similarly use the iconography of the hands to make the initiatives very clear yet approachable.
"We believe we have an obligation to help our community. By using our talent we maximize the impact we can make. Our employees are proud to have been involved," said David Becker, PBD President.
The 20-person agency made a significant pro bono investment over the course of 12 months conducting its rigorous strategic and creative process. The founding initiative – Project Homeless Connect – has achieved remarkable success, having been adopted as a national model by 32 cities across the United States in addition to engaging nearly 20,000 volunteers from San Francisco and the greater Bay Area.
